PTU Winter Passage Tag Tut

This tutorial is my own creation and any resemblance to others is purely coincidental.  This tutorial was written for those with a working knowledge of PSP.  Please do not copy or claim as your own. 

Materials Needed:

PSP X or any version should work.

Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow on credits and text 

Font Used - Forisel Script

Mask - YezMask030 found here

A tube of your choice.  I used the awesome  artwork by Tiffany Toland-Scott which you can purchase at Creative Design Outlet. You must have a license to use this art.

Scrap kit used  ScrapFoxy_TiffanyTolandScott-Package-21 by Foxy's Designz which can be purchased at CDO

Let's begin!

Open a new transparent image 700 x 700, 72dpi.- Flood fill with a light gray so we can see our work.

Open Paper9_FD - copy & paste as a new layer on your new image. Apply YezMask030 - Merge group.  Apply Effects - Edge Effects - Enhance.

Open Frame3_FD - resize 75 percent - copy & paste above the mask layer.

Open Paper12_FD - Copy & paste as a new layer - move below frame layer.

With your Magic Wand on these settings:

 Click inside the frame - Selections - Modify - Expand by 5

Activate Paper12 layer -Selections - Invert, hit your delete key once to remove excess paper.Select None and lower opacity to 85.

Go back to the frame and add drop shadow V/H 1, Opacity 30, Blur 10, black.

Open tube of choice - copy & paste as a new layer - position toward right side of frame (see tag for placement).  Grab your magic wand with same settings as before, click inside the frame - Selections - Modify - Expand by 1. Invert selection and move back to tube layer. With the Eraser tool erase away the bottom portion of the tube that over laps the frame. Select None.  Add drop shadow to your tube - I used V -4, H 4, Opacity 25, Blur 10, black.

Open Element2_FD - resize 65 percnet - copy and paste as new layer - move below frame layer.

With Magic Wand with same settings - click inside the frame - invert selection - move to snowflakes layer and hit delete key once.  Go to Adjust - Add Noise - Uniform 80 Monochrome.

Adjust - Sharpen - Sharpen More once.

Open Element33_FD - resize 65 percent - copy and paste as a new layer. 

Image - Free Rotate 15 - check Rotate single layer around canvas center.

Move feather between mask layer and paper layer and position so feather sticks out under left bottom of the frame. Add drop shadow V/H 1, Opacity 30, Blur 10, black.

Open Element8_FD, Element9_FD, Element10_FD, Element18_FD - resize each 45 percent.

Copy & Paste each as new layers. Position how you like inside the frame below the snowflakes layer.

Add same drop shadow as we used on the feather - you shouldn't need to change the settings unless you prefer to.

Open Element12_FD -resize 45 percent. Copy & Paste as new layer - move to the top of your palette and position lower left (set my tag). Add drop shadow - V -4, H 4, Opacity 25, Blur 10, black.

Open Element43_FD - resize 45 percent. Copy & Paste as new layer - move below the dog layer (set my tag).   Add drop shadow V/H 1, Opacity 30, Blur 10, black.

Duplicate - Image - Mirror - position where you like or see my tag.

Open Element4_FD - resize 65 percent.Copy & Paste as new layer - move below the flower layers yet above your tube layer. Position on lower left (see my tag).  Add same drop shadow as we did for the flowers.

Open Element24_FD - resize 65 percent.  Copy & Paste as new layer. Image - Mirror and move below the flower layers. Position on lower right (see my tag).

Now I wanted the branch to resemble a blue spruce pine so we need to adjust the hue/saturation with these settings:

 Add same drop shadow as before.

Duplicate - Image Mirror.

Open Element25_FD - resize 65 percent- copy & paste as new layer - move below your tube layer.

Position at top of frame (see my tag).

Add same drop shadow as before. 

Open Element7_FD - resize 65 percent - copy & paste as new layer - move to the top of your palette.

Position on right so sparkles are on the flower. Duplicate - Image - Mirror then position duplicate so some sparkles are on the other flower.

Delete the gray background layer.

Merge all layers visible.

Resize your tag how you like. I did mine at 75 percent.

Don't forget to sharpen. I used unsharpen mask - 15, 5, 4 luminance unchecked.

Add © copyright info, your license number and text (name or snag tag word).
